CRM & sales automation
Zoho CRM
A CRM with workflow automation built into every paid tier, and a permanently free edition for up to 3 users. We have not run our own pipeline through it — this page reports what Zoho documents about its own automation, cited and dated.
Have we tested this?
⚠ We could not verify this No. We have not run a workflow on this platform, so this page reports only what the vendor documents and what we could verify from primary sources. We do not review software we have not used.
How it bills you
Billing unit: Monthly subscription tiers, per user
Billing units are not interchangeable between platforms. A “credit”, a “task” and an “execution” measure different things, and comparing the headline prices without comparing the units is how people get surprised.
Free tier: Free forever for up to 3 users, per Zoho's own pricing page — includes leads, deals, workflows, reports and a mobile app, not a stripped-down trial.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 (up to 3 users) (as of 2026-09-27) | — |
| Standard | $20 (as of 2026-09-27) | $14 |
| Professional | $35 (as of 2026-09-27) | $23 |
| Enterprise | $50 (as of 2026-09-27) | $40 |
| Ultimate | $65 (as of 2026-09-27) | $52 |
What we can say in its favour
DocumentedWorkflow rules are documented as triggerable on record creation, on any field or a specific field being modified, or on a date field for scheduled monthly/yearly execution — covering the common 'do this automatically when that changes' case without custom code. (Zoho CRM help, accessed 2026-09-27)
DocumentedZoho's own pricing page lists workflow automation as included from the Standard tier ($14/user/month billed annually), not gated to the most expensive plan. (Zoho, accessed 2026-09-27)
DocumentedBlueprint is documented as a separate layer on top of workflow rules — it enforces a required step-by-step process (e.g. a deal can't skip stages) and can run its own automation after each step, which is a different job from a workflow rule reacting to a single field change. (Zoho CRM, accessed 2026-09-27)
Limitations
⚠ We could not verify thisWe have not built a workflow rule, a Blueprint, or run a real deal through this CRM ourselves. Everything above is Zoho's own documentation, not our measurement.
⚠ We could not verify thisWe could not verify how workflow rules and Blueprints behave together under real data, how reliable scheduled (date-based) workflows are in practice, or what actually breaks first as complexity grows — Zoho's docs describe the design, not failure behaviour.
DocumentedProcess automation (CPQ, email intelligence) is Professional tier and above; Journey orchestration and territory management are Enterprise and above — per Zoho's own plan-comparison, automation depth is tier-gated even though basic workflow rules exist on every paid tier. (Zoho, accessed 2026-09-27)
Who should not do this
Anyone with fewer than a handful of active deals who can genuinely track them by memory or a shared note — a CRM, free or paid, is solving a problem you may not have yet. Also anyone expecting deep process automation (Blueprint-level enforced stages, journey orchestration) on the free or Standard tier — per Zoho's own plan comparison, that depth starts at Professional and above.

- The comparison: Free CRM vs. paid automation
What we earn if you use this
Nothing today. We have applied to Zoho CRM's affiliate programme and are awaiting a decision. We are not yet approved. No link on this page is an affiliate link.
For the record, its published rate is Tiered: 15% (Standard) / 18% (Super) / 20% (Elite), based on referred revenue or customer count, first qualified purchase only, capped at $25,000 per single deal — not recurring on renewals, paid through In-house — NOT PartnerStack. Terms last verified 2026-09-27. Source. We are publishing that now, while the application is pending, so you can judge whether it coloured what we wrote.
